Wellness Activities

Saint Augustine of Canterbury has partnered with SPRINT Senior Care to bring their Community Wellness programs to North Leaside. We currently offer two programs:

Gentle Yoga for Seniors

On Thursdays, our popular Gentle Yoga for Seniors offers guided yoga for all levels of fitness, using chairs or traditional floor yoga depending on participants’ preferences and abilities. Our goal is to provide the benefits of yoga to all, with personal abilities and safety top of mind. Join us on Thursdays from 9:30 am to 10:30 am for $5 per session. We provide yoga mats if you don’t have your own.

Tai Chi

On Tuesdays an enthusiastic group is learning Shibashi Tai Chi. Also geared to a senior audience, this program welcomes those at all levels of fitness and ability. Shibashi Tai Chi is comprised of 18 movements. It is beneficial for physical health, and helps to reduce stress! Come join the group to learn – or relearn – in a friendly environment. Cost us $30 for a 6 week session. Join us on Tuesdays from 10:00 am to 11:50 am.
