Megan joined St. Augustine’s in February of 2018 as the priest-in-charge. Megan was ordained a priest in 2014, and prior to ordination, served numerous churches in the Greater Toronto Area and in rural Quebec as both a lay minister and a minister for children and youth.
Megan studied at Trinity College, at the University of Toronto, with an undergraduate focus in Religious and Jewish Studies. She continued her graduate work at Trinity College, in the Toronto School of Theology, earning her Master’s of Divinity in 2005.
Prior to arriving at St. Augustine’s, Megan served as associate priest at the Church of the Redeemer in downtown Toronto and as assistant curate at All Saints’ Kingsway, in Toronto’s west end. She grew up in the suburbs north of Toronto and has also served churches in Whitby and Pickering.
Megan brings to ministry a passion for preaching and for the inclusion of children and young people as full participants and leaders in our church community. She was raised in a secular family and came to church and entered into a life of faith as a young adult. As such, Megan is particularly attentive to seekers and newcomers to church and is curious about the intersection of religious and secular life.
Megan is married to Chris and they have three school-aged children. They recently moved into the parish’s rectory, a church-owned house in North Leaside. As a family, they’re increasing their engagement in the local community and building relationships with their new neighbours.
